“Informative”, “interesting” and “helpful” were some of the ways people described the Senior Safety event which took place at the Baptist Church in Bridgnorth last Tuesday.
We began with a taster session in gentle exercise to get everyone in the mood for the morning ahead. Wendy, the teacher, demonstrated that EXTEND was a great exercise starter for those who are unsteady on their feet, or who have been inactive for a while, as it can be done from a seated position. Everyone who joined in found it fun.
The rest of the morning was filled with presentations by the local Police, the regional Fire Service and Falls Prevention Service. People had the opportunity to talk with a variety of services and find out about different types of support available in the Bridgnorth area.
The Wise and Well Team from Shropshire Rural Community Council are hosting these events around the county. The next one is taking place in Shifnal on Tuesday 21st October at Shifnal Village Hall, 10:00am until 1:30pm.
