Shropshire RCC is hosting an event helping people from feeling the pinch over winter.
‘Warm and Well’ is being held at Castlefields Community Centre, Shrewsbury, on Thursday 23rd January, between 10am and 1pm.
The free event is taking place during Big Energy Saving Week, a national campaign to help people cut their energy bills and get the financial support they are entitled to.Attendees are invited to bring their energy bills with them to check if they could save money, and will also have the chance to be entered into a free prize draw. Information will also be available on keeping active, healthy eating on a budget, plus advice on savings and loans.
Elizabeth Thain, Development Officer for Shropshire RCC, said: “Winter is often a difficult time for people, with extra costs like heating bills and Christmas spending having a big impact on households.
“We hope we can highlight how savings can be made in various ways, and are excited to bring together local organisations that can share advice to help people to stay ‘warm and well’.”
Big Energy Saving Week takes place annually and is coordinated by Citizens Advice. Next year’s campaign runs from Monday 20 to Sunday 26 January.
