New online club to help people keep active at home
5th Aug, 2020
Shropshire RCC has launched an online programme to support older people to develop their mental and physical health.
The Wise & Well Club is open to people in Shropshire aged 65 to 95 and includes information and advice on fitness and wellbeing, plus activities for members to try out in the comfort of their own homes.
The launch of the club follows the delivery of our Functional Fitness MOTs, which took place across Shropshire throughout 2019 to help older people become or stay physically active.
Shropshire RCC Project Officer Susie Hancock, who is co-ordinating the club, said: “While it is disappointing not to able to see people face-to-face like we usually would, I’m delighted we can still offer support so people can feel confident about staying active and healthy at home.”
Anyone interested in becoming a member is invited to contact Susie first so she can understand their level of fitness. She added: “We’re here to help people with their health and wellbeing journey, so it’s important to make sure that the Wise & Well Club is right for them.”
