Shropshire Rural Communities Charity has its fundraising buckets ready and is geared up to spread some Christmas cheer at the Shrewsbury Town fixture against Bristol Rovers at the Greenhous Meadow on Saturday 17th December.
Through our charity partnership this season with Shrewsbury Town in the Community, we have been
offered the opportunity to send a team of volunteers to fundraise and to raise
awareness of the work of our charity.
Our Chief Executive, Julia Baron (pictured above, with Shrewsbury Town FC player Sean Whalley) says, “we’re excited to be able to have a presence at the last Shrewsbury Town fixture before Christmas and we’re hopeful that the fans of the Town (and Bristol Rovers!) will generously provide a pre-Christmas boost to our last fundraising activity for this year.”
We will use funds raised at the Greenhous Meadow to continue to provide
vital services to Shropshire’s communities, addressing rural
issues such as poor transport; fuel poverty; isolation due to disability,
sight-loss or hearing-loss; support for Shropshire’s voluntary village hall
committees and other voluntary community groups.
