Shropshire RCC is bringing its successful drop-in clinics for hearing aid wearers to Shrewsbury this month.
We manage 16 clinics, which are free to attend for anyone who wears a hearing aid supplied by the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust Audiology departments.
The sessions are run by audiology-trained volunteers who provide information, advice and support on issues including hearing aid repairs, re-tubing and maintenance.
The Shrewsbury clinic will be held between 10am and noon on Tuesday 19 March at Shrewsbury Library, Castle Gates, and will then take place there every third Tuesday of each month.
Susann Mitchell, Development Officer for Shropshire RCC, said: “We know there was a lot of disappointment when a previous town centre drop-in closed last year so we made it a priority to try and fill this need.
“We’re excited to bring a new clinic to Shrewsbury which will allow people to pop in and speak to our volunteers, who offer expertise and insight as many have hearing loss and wear hearing aids themselves.
“We’d also like to thank Shrewsbury Library for kindly providing us with a space to host the clinic in the town centre.”
As well as drop-in clinics, our Hearing Loss Support Service also runs free workshops giving support and advice to people wearing NHS hearing aids.
