We are delighted to announce that Shropshire RCC is to be awarded the top grant of £25,000 following the Masonic Charitable Foundation Awards campaign this summer.
The Awards are a major part of Freemasonry’s 300th anniversary celebrations. The Masonic Charitable Foundation is distributing three million pounds to 300 charities across the country, with the public vote deciding on the range of awards from £4,000 to £25,000.
Shropshire RCC was one of four charities to be nominated by Freemasons in Shropshire, with people voting to decide the level of their award. They were part of 178,801 people who voted across England and Wales.
Our voting campaign focused on our Wheels2Work scheme, and how we would use the money raised to support it. Wheels2Work supports people in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin who need transport assistance (moped or electric bike) to access work or work-based training.
Julia Baron, Chief Executive of Shropshire RCC, said: “The grant of £25,000 is hugely important and will make a big difference to the number of people we can support on the scheme. We are very grateful to all of our friends and supporters who took the time to vote for us.”
