There are over 240 community buildings in Shropshire run by volunteers for the benefit of their community. These include village or parish halls, community centres, church halls and other spaces where the community can come together for social or leisure purposes.
We offer advice and training to the Management Committees of village halls and community buildings across Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin through our membership scheme.
We support you in areas including:

Risk assessments, fire safety, electrical inspections, food hygiene, recording/reporting accidents
Property ownership, book-keeping and accounts, trustee roles and responsibilities, good committee working, raising funds, dealing with conflicts of interest, maintaining quality (including the Hallmark Quality Standard)
Information about Charity Law, compliance with your governing document, Charity Commission returns, Licensing Act, Gambling Act, Equalities Act, Performing Rights/Phonographic Performance licenses, legal issues associated with employing staff or using self-employed contractors
Business planning, recruiting new trustees, making your building more energy efficient, large scale capital projects (eg refurbishment, extension and new build), market research
