Extend is a registered charity whose aim is to pass on to students the ability to safely teach suitable recreational exercise to music. Working with people in this way helps to stimulate their physical and mental health, increase their mobility and independance and improve their strength, stamina, posture and co-ordination. A qualified Extend teacher is able to help older people to maintain as full a life as possile, whether they are living at home or in long stay care.

The Preventative Services Development Team are able to give people, who are interested in providing exercise to men and woman over 60 and less able adults of all ages including those with learning disabilities, the opportunity to train as an Extend teacher.
