A carer is someone who provides unpaid help or support to a relative, friend or neighbour, young or old, who cannot manage at home without their support due to frailty, long-term physical or mental health problems or a learning disability.
Unpaid carers are often referred to as 'family carers' and should not be confused with care workers, who are usually from an agency, and are paid to provide services.

The Carer Support Service is committed to improving the lives of all family carers who live in the county. Specialist support is offered to

The Carer Support Service at the Community Council is funded by Shropshire County Council Community Services.
